VEDIC MATHEMATICS FOR BEGINNERS

EKADHIKENA PURVENA

Once you know the meanings of Ekadhikena and Purvena, you can apply the Sutra Ekadhikena Purvena to obtain the new number by using the following steps:

Step1. Locate the purvena digit.

Step2. write the number with Ekadhika symbol () on the
          purvena digit. (Done in the Practice set 1-B)

Step3. Write the new number using Ekadhik of Purvena.

Example: Write the new number using Ekadhikena Purvena of 6 in 16.

Solution: Step1. The Purvena of 6 is 1.
             Step2. The required number in symbols is .

             Step3. = 26

    Therefore, the new number is 26.  Answer

Example: Write the new number of 327 using Ekadhikena Purvena of 3.

Solution: Number is 327
             Purven of 3 in 327 is 0.
             In symbols, the new number is .

             Therefore the new number is 1327. (By using 
             Ekadhikena Purvena)
